Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, is actively pursuing the acquisition of Dusan Vlahovic, a skilled striker from Juventus, in the upcoming January transfer window. Despite a generally positive season for the Gunners, a recent setback against West Ham United highlighted the need for a more potent forward, a role Arteta envisions Vlahovic filling.
As Arsenal currently holds the second position in the Premier League, trailing just one point behind Liverpool after 18 games, the team’s leading scorers, Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah, have contributed only five goals each this season. Recognizing this shortfall, Arteta has identified Vlahovic as a potential solution, aiming to address the team’s attacking dynamics.
Vlahovic, whose departure from Juventus is imminent, has been a target for Arsenal since his time before joining the Italian club. While Juventus values the striker at £52 million, Arsenal is reportedly prepared to offer £34.7 million, setting the stage for intriguing negotiations once the January transfer window opens.
Notably, PSG star Kylian Mbappe, a football sensation globally, has endorsed Vlahovic’s talent. Mbappe has lauded the Serbian striker, acknowledging him as one of the standout players of their generation. In a statement from September last year, Mbappe expressed confidence in Vlahovic’s potential, foreseeing him as a top player in the years to come. This endorsement adds a compelling dimension to Arsenal’s pursuit of the talented forward.
