In a recent report, journalist Rudy Galetti revealed Arsenal’s active pursuit of Brentford’s center-forward Ivan Toney, intending to bring the English striker to North London in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Toney, 27, has displayed an impressive performance in the Premier League, notably scoring four goals in six matches for Brentford this season. He leads the attack with 3.3 shots, 0.5 dribbles, and 0.8 crosses per 90 minutes, although he must enhance his passing accuracy, currently at 57.6%.
With Toney’s contract at Brentford expiring next season, Arsenal sees an opportunity to secure him at a reduced price.
Despite his strengths in finding space, finishing, and making dynamic runs, Toney needs to refine his passing accuracy. However, standing at 1.85m, his physical presence aids in holding up play. Given his potential and demonstrated abilities in the Premier League, Toney emerges as a compelling option for Arsenal to bolster their attacking force.
At 27, Toney’s peak years lie ahead, making him a valuable asset for Arsenal. Securing him could enhance their competitiveness across competitions in the coming years, justifying the pursuit from the North London club.
