Arsenal is eagerly anticipating the return of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Thomas Partey as they prepare to face Newcastle tonight. Jesus has been sidelined since January with a knee problem, while Zinchenko has been out since February due to a calf injury. Partey, who hasn’t played since October because of a groin issue, is also on the brink of making a comeback, according to Gunners manager Mikel Arteta. Their potential return would provide a significant boost to Arsenal, currently trailing Premier League leaders Liverpool by five points with a match in hand.
Arteta mentioned in his pre-match press conference that the trio is nearing full fitness, although careful consideration is required to ensure they are ready to compete at the highest level. Unfortunately, Takehiro Tomiyasu is expected to miss the Newcastle clash due to a calf problem, while Jurrien Timber continues his recovery from a knee injury sustained in August.
Despite these setbacks, Arteta is optimistic about Timber’s progress and anticipates his return to training with the team in the coming weeks. As for the predicted lineup against Newcastle, Arsenal is expected to field a 4-3-3 formation, with players like Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior, Odegaard, Rice, Jorginho, Saka, Havertz, and Martinelli likely to feature.
