This move comes on the heels of a disappointing performance against Aston Villa, where Mikel Arteta experimented with Kai Havertz in midfield and Gabriel Jesus up front, only to suffer a 2-0 defeat, revealing a glaring gap in the squad’s depth.

Jesus has struggled with injuries in his second season at the club, while Eddie Nketiah has found limited opportunities to make an impact.

Despite Havertz being the preferred option, Arsenal lacks a reliable backup plan. Recent reports from Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Arsenal is still actively pursuing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna as an alternative solution.
