BREAKING NEWS: According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal wants to add a 22-year-old elite striker to their squad ahead of next season. It’s no secret that Arsenal needs to add an experienced goal scorer to its front line this summer, and the club has chosen a Bundesliga player as their preferred striker. Arsenal is in talks with an explosive striker; ready to offer contract till 2029.

Arsenal’s pursuit of a seasoned goal scorer to strengthen their attacking line during the upcoming transfer window is widely acknowledged.

While Kai Havertz, their current leading scorer, has managed to rack up an impressive 12 goals in the ongoing 2023-24 season, including a notable brace against Chelsea, there remains a lingering concern among some supporters regarding the team’s consistency in finding the net.

Despite tallying a commendable 82 goals collectively, making them the Premier League’s top scorers, there’s a perceived absence of a consistent match-winner akin to the likes of Mo Salah or Erling Haaland, who consistently deliver goals week in, week out, a trait evident in title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.

Although Gabriel Jesus has showcased glimpses of goal-scoring prowess when injury-free, Arsenal has set their sights on Joshua Zirkzee for this transfer window, recognizing him as a potential game-changer.

Zirkzee, a 22-year-old striker hailing from Bologna, has also notched up 12 goals this season, according to WhoScored, demonstrating his capabilities as a genuine center-forward rather than an auxiliary attacker like Havertz.

There’s optimism within the club that under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, Zirkzee could further hone his skills, following the trajectory of other players who have thrived under the manager’s tutelage in recent seasons.

According to reports from Tuttosport, as cited by Football Italia, Arsenal is actively involved in negotiations with Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, discussing a contract extension until 2029 accompanied by a substantial annual salary of €6 million.

However, the outcome of these talks remains uncertain at present. Additionally, Arsenal faces stiff competition from several other clubs, including Milan, Aston Villa, Internazionale, and Manchester United, all eager to secure Zirkzee’s signature.

Nevertheless, Arsenal may possess an advantage due to Joorabchian’s purported longstanding connections with the club, potentially swaying the decision-making process in their favor, as reported by Footballwave.
