The club continues to captivate, drawing the attention of several elite players, among them the highly esteemed Matthijs de Ligt.
As reported in today’s edition of Abendzeitung München (AZ), the Dutch defender is “quite willing” to transfer to Manchester United, despite the club’s absence from the Champions League in the 2024-25 season.
Speaking about his future, the Netherlands star remarked, “I’m relatively calm,” reflecting his composed mindset regarding potential transfers.
Currently, de Ligt is concentrating on his duties with the national team at the European Championships.
In the meantime, his agents have been in talks with Manchester United.
De Ligt shares a significant history with Erik ten Hag, who coached him at Ajax.
Under ten Hag’s guidance, de Ligt was instrumental in the Ajax squad that achieved remarkable victories over Real Madrid and Juventus, advancing to the Champions League semi-finals five years ago.
