BREAKING NEWS: Manchester United has successfully hijacked a late transfer window deal to acquire the £60m South American superstar. An agreement has been made for a 4-year contract, and the player is set to watch the Liverpool game today.

Manchester United made a high-profile acquisition on deadline day, securing Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain. The 23-year-old, who spent only one season with the French giants, has joined the English club for an initial fee of €50 million (approximately RM237 million), with an additional €10 million potentially earned through performance-related bonuses.

In a statement released by the club, Ugarte expressed his excitement about joining Manchester United, a club he describes as globally admired. “It is an incredible feeling to join a club of this magnitude,” Ugarte said.

He emphasized his commitment to succeed and his willingness to make sacrifices for his teammates. Ugarte is determined to help Manchester United compete for trophies and restore the club to its former glory.

Ugarte’s arrival marks Manchester United’s fifth significant signing of the transfer window, following the acquisitions of defenders Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui, as well as Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee.

United’s sporting director, Dan Ashworth, highlighted Ugarte as a key target for the summer. He praised Ugarte as one of the world’s top ball-winning midfielders, noting his impressive track record both at the club and international levels. Ashworth believes Ugarte’s skills, experience, and enthusiasm will enhance the club’s already strong midfield.

Ugarte has earned 22 caps for Uruguay and was notably named in the team of the tournament after helping his national team secure third place at the Copa America last month. Although he won Ligue 1 and the French Cup with PSG last season, Ugarte struggled to secure a regular spot in Luis Enrique’s lineup following his €60 million transfer from Sporting Lisbon.
