BREAKING NEWS:Manchester City vs West Ham first half live

West Ham fans will have to wait to see their new acquisition, Carlos Soler, in action as he wasn’t registered in time for the upcoming match. This evening, West Ham is facing a significant challenge against Premier League champions Manchester City, prompting some changes in their lineup.

On Wednesday night, West Ham secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup, following their first Premier League win of the season against Crystal Palace. This win came after a disappointing opening day defeat to Aston Villa.

Under the guidance of new manager Julen Lopetegui, the team will miss defender Aaron Cresswell, who picked up a hamstring injury during the Bournemouth match. As a result, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will take the right-back position, while Konstantinos Mavropanos will partner with Max Kilman in central defense, replacing Jean-Clair Todibo.

In a positive development, midfielder Edson Alvarez is returning to the starting lineup after recovering from a hamstring injury sustained at the Copa America with Mexico. Lopetegui acknowledged the challenges Alvarez has faced during his recovery.

“Edson has been out for three months so it’s not easy for him,” the manager noted. “It was his first match in the lineup and he showed big energy. He’s going to need time to adapt and recover his best fitness and he’s going to do that step by step.”

Guido Rodriguez also earns a spot in the starting eleven, which means Tomas Soucek will start the match on the bench. Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler, who joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day, was unable to be included in the squad in time for the game.

The starting lineup for West Ham includes Areola in goal, Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman, and Emerson in defense, Alvarez, Paqueta, and Rodriguez in midfield, with Bowen, Antonio, and Kudus in attack. The substitutes for this match are Fabianski, Casey, Coufal, Todibo, Soucek, Irving, Summerville, Guilherme, and Fullkrug.
