Barcelona is once again focusing on South American talent, this time targeting Brazil’s rising defensive star, Vitor Reis from Palmeiras. The 18-year-old center-back has garnered interest from European giants such as Barcelona, Arsenal, and Real Madrid. Despite Barcelona’s recent struggles with Brazilian signings, they are determined not to miss out on this emerging defensive prospect.
Vitor Reis, who debuted for Palmeiras’ first team in June this year, has since made 15 appearances, showcasing impressive defensive skills. His performances have led to comparisons with fellow Brazilians Marquinhos of PSG and Real Madrid’s Eder Militao, both renowned for their defensive leadership.
Over the summer, Reis signed a new contract with Palmeiras, extending his stay until December 2028, with a hefty €100 million release clause, making him one of the most valuable young defenders in the global market.
Several top clubs are vying for Reis, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Arsenal. According to reports, Barcelona is actively pursuing the Brazilian, but they face stiff competition.
