BREAKING NEWS: šŸšØ Gyƶkeres has finally spoken out after the Arsenal defender copied his signature mask celebrationā€¦ šŸ˜¬ šŸ—£ļø ā€œI wasnā€™t aware he did that, but itā€™s amusing that he enjoys my celebration.ā€

Sporting Club forward Viktor Gyƶkeres has finally addressed Arsenal defender Gabrielā€™s decision to mimic his signature celebration during a recent match.

Gyƶkeres, 26, has been a standout player in Europe this season, netting an impressive 24 goals in just 20 games. However, the Swedish striker couldnā€™t add to his tally on Tuesday as Arsenal secured a commanding 5-1 win in Lisbon.

Gabriel scored Arsenalā€™s third goal during first-half stoppage time, capitalizing on Declan Riceā€™s precise corner with a perfectly executed run. After finding the back of the net, the Brazilian defender replicated Gyƶkeresā€™ trademark celebration, interlocking his hands in front of his face. Gyƶkeres later responded humorously, saying Gabriel was welcome to ā€œstealā€ the celebration if he couldnā€™t invent one himself.

Reports suggest the celebration was a playful nod to Pedro Goncalves, who mimicked Granit Xhakaā€™s celebration when Sporting eliminated Arsenal in the Europa League back in March 2023.

Despite Sportingā€™s defeat, Gyƶkeres remains a sought-after talent, with clubs like Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona reportedly keeping a close eye on him during the game.

Arsenalā€™s victory propelled them to seventh in the Champions League group stage standings. However, concerns arose over Gabrielā€™s fitness after manager Mikel Arteta revealed the defender had experienced some discomfort. While the exact issue remains unclear, Arteta expressed satisfaction with his teamā€™s performance, commending their efficiency and progress on the European stage.
