Arsenal have reportedly secured an agreement to sign Borussia Dortmund’s talented forward, Karim Adeyemi, according to Spanish media outlet Fichajes. The 23-year-old, who joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022, has rapidly emerged as an influential figure for the Bundesliga club. Known for his blistering speed and technical skill, Adeyemi has impressed both fans and analysts with his ability to change the course of games.
Since making the switch to Germany, Adeyemi has made a significant impact, particularly in the Bundesliga and Champions League. In his recent appearances, he has registered five goals and four assists in just nine starts. Despite facing an injury setback earlier in the season, he has recovered well and is once again playing consistently for Dortmund, showcasing his potential as one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, attracting interest from several top European clubs. Serie A leaders Napoli were among the most serious contenders, reportedly considering Adeyemi as a possible successor to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Italian side had engaged in talks with Dortmund over a potential transfer, hoping to strengthen their attacking options.
However, negotiations between Napoli and Dortmund ultimately did not result in a deal. Reports suggest that Napoli backed out of the race after discovering that Adeyemi had already committed to another club for a transfer in the summer. That club now appears to be Arsenal, who have emerged as the frontrunners to secure his signature.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is said to be highly impressed by Adeyemi’s technical abilities and versatility. Believing that the young German could add a new dimension to Arsenal’s attacking lineup, Arteta has reportedly prioritized his acquisition. The club is prepared to make a substantial financial investment to bring Adeyemi to North London next summer, underlining their ambition in the transfer market.
According to Transfermarkt, Adeyemi is currently valued at approximately £29 million and remains under contract with Dortmund until 2027. However, given Dortmund’s track record of selling top talents for significant profits, the German club may be open to negotiations. If the right offer arrives, they could be willing to part ways with the promising attacker in the upcoming transfer window.
Adeyemi’s ability to operate across multiple attacking positions makes him a valuable addition for Arsenal. As a left-footed player, he is effective on both wings and can also play as a central striker when needed. This flexibility is particularly beneficial for Arsenal, who are looking to add depth and quality to their forward line.
