According to reports from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Lamine Yamal was visibly upset after being substituted in the final ten minutes of the match.
His frustration carried over into the locker room, where he reportedly expressed strong dissatisfaction with the decision.
Yamal felt that his substitution was unwarranted, especially in light of Robert Lewandowski’s performance. The Polish striker missed multiple clear-cut chances and, in Yamal’s opinion, lacked the energy and sharpness needed to press the Las Palmas defense effectively. The young winger believed that Lewandowski should have been replaced instead.
This disagreement created a tense situation between Yamal and head coach Hansi Flick. The German manager has heavily relied on Yamal in recent matches, but the incident cast a spotlight on his tactical decisions and caused some unrest within the squad.
Despite this minor internal dispute, Barcelona remains firmly in the title race. However, the tension between certain players and the coach could lead to further challenges in the near future.
