Several Premier League clubs are expected to target a new striker in the upcoming summer transfer window, with Arsenal among those eager to strengthen their attacking options.
During the January transfer window, the Gunners attempted to bolster their forward line but failed in their pursuit of Aston Villa’s striker, Ollie Watkins.
Their need for a new attacker became even more pressing after Gabriel Jesus was ruled out for the remainder of the season due to injury. At that point, Arsenal relied on Kai Havertz to lead the attack.
However, since the transfer window closed, Havertz has also sustained a long-term injury, leaving Arsenal without their key forwards for the rest of the campaign. This situation has made securing a new striker a priority for manager Mikel Arteta when the transfer window reopens.
Among the Premier League clubs seeking a top-tier forward, Arsenal has reportedly set its sights on Bayern Munich’s prolific striker, Harry Kane. According to a report from Fichajes, the Gunners are closely monitoring Kane’s situation and are considering making a move for the England international.
Since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur, Kane has been in outstanding form, netting 29 goals in all competitions and playing a vital role in Bayern’s title challenge. Despite his success in Germany, speculation suggests he might be open to a Premier League return, particularly if he secures a Bundesliga title this season.
However, Arsenal is not the only club interested in Kane. Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham are also reportedly keen on signing the forward. Additionally, Bayern Munich is reluctant to part ways with their star striker, making any potential transfer challenging. Arsenal, or any other club, would need to present a convincing offer to persuade the German giants to sell.
Arteta has previously expressed admiration for Kane, once calling him “the best finisher in the world,” which highlights his respect for the striker’s goal-scoring ability. He views Kane as the perfect solution to Arsenal’s attacking struggles and believes his presence would significantly enhance their title ambitions.
Despite the potential benefits of acquiring Kane, the transfer would not be straightforward. Arsenal faces competition from multiple top English clubs and must also overcome the challenge of convincing a former Tottenham star to join one of Spurs’ biggest rivals.
Nonetheless, given Kane’s undeniable talent and the impact he could have on Arsenal’s title hopes, pursuing his signature could be a risk worth taking for the North London club.
