Zinchenko Among Arsenal Stars Expected to Depart This Summer
Arsenal is set for a squad overhaul this summer, with Oleksandr Zinchenko, who earns £150,000 per week, anticipated to leave alongside teammates Thomas Partey and Jorginho.
Manager Mikel Arteta is determined to reshape his midfield as the club faces another season without securing the Premier League title, fueling frustration among supporters.
In addition to Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney is also expected to make an exit. Arsenal officials are reportedly preparing for a significant transfer window, aiming to strengthen the squad and avoid a repeat of this season’s disappointments. According to Daily Mail journalist Sami Mokbel, Arsenal plans to offload multiple players to generate funds for reinforcements.
Zinchenko, who joined the Gunners from Manchester City in July 2022 for around £32 million, was initially a key figure in the squad. However, persistent injuries have limited his playing time, reducing his role under Arteta this season. He has made only two Premier League starts and accumulated just 15 appearances across all competitions.
As Arsenal looks to refresh their squad, Zinchenko is among those likely to be sold. His departure is expected to contribute to the club’s efforts to build a substantial transfer budget for summer acquisitions.
Riccardo Calafiori, who arrived last summer, has emerged as a viable defensive alternative, compensating for his technical limitations with solid defensive attributes. Additionally, academy talent Myles Lewis-Skelly has overtaken Zinchenko in the squad’s pecking order.
The Ukrainian international has played fewer than 300 league minutes this season and was reportedly open to leaving during the winter transfer window.
At that time, Atletico Madrid expressed interest in signing him, while Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray were also monitoring his situation. Arsenal is believed to value Zinchenko at approximately €20 million (£17 million) plus additional fees.
Tierney, another long-serving defender, is also expected to leave the club in the coming months. Meanwhile, midfielders Partey and Jorginho are likely to depart as Arteta restructures the squad, signaling a major shift in Arsenal’s plans ahead of the new season.
With significant changes on the horizon, Arsenal’s summer transfer strategy will be crucial in determining whether the club can finally mount a successful title challenge after years of falling short.
