Barcelona has faced a tough season filled with challenges, prompting several players to consider seeking new opportunities away from Camp Nou.
The arrival of German coach Hansi Flick has brought noticeable tactical adjustments to the squad, causing certain players to lose their regular spots in the team. These changes have directly impacted their chances of featuring consistently in matches.
As reported by the Spanish outlet El Nacional, Barcelona midfielder Pablo Torre has made the decision to leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window. Torre, who had long dreamed of representing the Blaugrana, has come to realize that leaving is essential for his career progression.
He privately informed those closest to him of his intention to move on and has already communicated his decision to coach Hansi Flick.
Torre’s situation at Barcelona has been difficult this season. He was given very limited opportunities to showcase his abilities, typically only featuring when multiple midfielders were unavailable, particularly at the beginning of the campaign.
Once the injured players returned, Torre found himself completely out of the starting lineup and often left on the bench without significant playing time.
In recent months, his role has diminished further, and when he did appear, it was usually for a handful of minutes in games that had already been effectively decided.
Despite his evident potential — which even coach Flick acknowledges — the stiff competition in Barcelona’s midfield has made it nearly impossible for Torre to secure a consistent place in the squad. As a result, his exit from the club has become increasingly likely.
While struggling for playing time, Torre has maintained close friendships with fellow teammates like Gavi, Pedri, Fermin López, and Dani Olmo.
He recently shared with them that he is in talks with other clubs and planning a move when the current season concludes. Although he received an offer during the last winter transfer window, Torre opted to remain at Barcelona in hopes of lifting silverware with the team. He now believes that decision was appropriate at the time.
However, with growing interest from clubs abroad and several sides within La Liga, Torre has concluded that this summer marks the right moment for a fresh start. Among the possible destinations, Real Mallorca appears to be the leading contender to secure his services.
