Arsenal have finalised the signing of a £70m star, with the player already bidding farewell to his teammates ahead of a long-term move. Chelsea made a strong attempt to hijack the transfer, but the deal is now officially sealed for the Gunners.

BREAKING: Arsenal have officially secured the signing of a £70 million-rated star, with the player reportedly bidding farewell to his teammates as he prepares to join the North London club on a long-term contract. Chelsea had made several attempts to hijack the deal, but it’s now confirmed as a done deal for the Gunners.

According to a fresh report from Italian outlet Tuttojuve, Arsenal are moving quickly to finalise the signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this summer. Strengthening the attacking department has been a top priority for Mikel Arteta’s side, particularly in the centre-forward position.

In recent weeks, the club has been linked with a number of strikers, including Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP, Victor Osimhen of Napoli, and Leipzig’s Sesko.

It now appears Arsenal have made Sesko their primary target, as Tuttojuve claims the 22-year-old Slovenian international tops the club’s shortlist to reinforce the frontline for the upcoming 2025–26 season. The report further notes that Arsenal’s newly appointed sporting director, Andrea Berta, is actively working to push the deal through early in the summer transfer window.

After an impressive season where Sesko scored 21 goals and contributed six assists, Arsenal believe his attributes make him the perfect fit to lead their attack moving forward. The tall 6ft 4in striker offers a complete skill set, combining physical presence, aerial dominance, speed, creativity, and, most importantly, a proven goal-scoring instinct—qualities Arsenal have been lacking in their forward line.

Sesko was heavily linked with Arsenal in last summer’s transfer window but opted to stay at RB Leipzig, signing a new five-year deal at the Red Bull Arena.

Now, with the Bundesliga side still in a strong negotiating position, the Gunners are banking on Berta’s experience and negotiation skills to deliver the talented forward, currently valued at around €65 million (£54 million) by Transfermarkt.

The absence of a reliable centre-forward significantly affected Arsenal’s campaign last season, with injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz forcing Arteta to experiment with alternatives up front.

Determined not to repeat that scenario, the club is moving swiftly to secure Sesko, a player long admired by Arsenal. With Berta reportedly accelerating talks, Arsenal supporters will be hoping the deal is concluded in time for the striker to link up with his new teammates for pre-season preparations.
