Medical tests are scheduled for today, with an official announcement expected shortly. Congratulations to all Arsenal fans

Arsenalโ€™s seventh signing of the summer has been spotted at London Colney earlier today, with reports claiming he is set to undergo his medical in the coming hours. The man in question is none other than Crystal Palaceโ€™s star performer, Eberechi Eze, who is reportedly prioritising a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, according to Football London.

The Gunners have finished second in the Premier League for the last three seasons, but their strongest title challenges came in 2022/23 and 2023/24. Despite their efforts, Liverpool cruised to the title last season, leaving Arsenal once again chasing the ultimate prize.

Determined to go one step further, the North London club have splashed significant cash in this transfer window to give Mikel Arteta the weapons he needs to finally secure the Premier League crown. Yet, pre-season hasnโ€™t been entirely convincing.

Just last night, Arsenal suffered a 3-2 defeat to Villarreal at the Emirates. Their only goals came from a set-piece and a penalty, with the team struggling to convert chances and showing weaknesses when caught in transitionโ€”problems Arteta will be keen to fix before the season kicks off.

According to reports, despite spending around ยฃ200m and adding Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres to strengthen their frontline, Arsenal are still in the market for another attacking option. Eze has emerged as a prime target, with Arteta described as a โ€œbig fanโ€ of the 27-year-oldโ€™s style and versatility.

Ezeโ€™s current contract with Crystal Palace runs until 2027 and contains a ยฃ68m release clause. Palace are said to be demanding ยฃ35m upfront to even consider letting him go. Arsenal, however, plan to offload a few players before making their move. The midfielderโ€™s performances last seasonโ€”14 goals and 12 assists across all competitionsโ€”underline his quality, further boosted by helping Palace lift the FA Cup.

With his ability to operate in multiple positions and his proven Premier League experience, Eze would be a strong addition to Arsenalโ€™s squad. Still, the question remains whether the Gunners can get the deal done before the transfer window closes.

In the meantime, Arsenal face a daunting start to the new season. They open their campaign at Old Trafford, followed by a trip to Anfield in their third game. To make matters even trickier, they will take on Manchester City and Newcastle United at St Jamesโ€™ Park within their first six fixturesโ€”making early momentum all the more crucial.
