In a dramatic twist to the ongoing rivalry between Spain’s two footballing giants, Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has revealed that he has been encouraging Barcelona’s young sensation Gavi to abandon Camp Nou and make the switch to the Santiago Bernabéu.
In an interview with Marca, the 21-year-old England international admitted that he has repeatedly told the Spanish midfielder that remaining at what he described as a “trophyless Barcelona” could hinder his career ambitions, particularly when it comes to winning the sport’s most prestigious prizes.
“I advised him to leave Barça and come to Madrid, but it seems he no longer pays attention to me,” Bellingham confessed.
“By the time he realizes, it may already be too late. A player of his caliber should not miss out on lifting the Champions League.”
