Spanish club Sevilla is reportedly taking steps to rescue Barcelona’s struggling forward Ansu Fati during the upcoming winter transfer window.
The Andalusian side aims to bolster its attacking options for the second half of the season by offering the young star a chance to rejuvenate his career, which has stalled under Barcelona’s current setup.
Fati has been sidelined under the leadership of Barcelona’s manager, Hansi Flick, who has not included the player in his plans for the season. This lack of opportunities has left the talented forward searching for a team where he can secure more playing time and rebuild his confidence.
According to the Catalan newspaper Sport, Sevilla views Fati as an ideal addition to its squad. The club is prioritizing his acquisition over other options, such as Ferran Jutglà, a former Barcelona player now excelling at Belgian club Brugge. While Jutglà’s performances have caught the eye, his rising market value makes Fati a more practical choice for Sevilla.
Negotiations between Sevilla and Fati’s camp have already begun, with the club making contact with the player and his representatives.
Sevilla is keen to finalize the deal and bring Fati to Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. However, several challenges stand in the way of completing the transfer. One significant hurdle is Fati’s high salary, which poses financial difficulties for Sevilla.
Additionally, his history of injuries raises concerns about his reliability. Currently, Fati is recovering from a muscle injury but is expected to return to action in mid-December.
