Barcelona are currently thriving under the guidance of Hansi Flick. The team sits at the top of La Liga, has secured a spot in the Copa del Rey semi-finals, and advanced to the Champions League round of 16. With such impressive performances, they remain strong contenders for multiple trophies this season. However, not all players are content with their roles in the squad.
According to the Spanish outlet El Nacional, one of the most frustrated players is Pablo Torre. The young midfielder has struggled for game time in recent weeks, completely disappearing from the starting lineup.
Despite proving his abilities whenever given a chance, he has not been granted significant minutes, leading him to feel undervalued by Flick. As a result, Torre has made the decision to leave in the upcoming summer transfer window in search of regular playing opportunities.
Torre’s time at Barcelona has been far from smooth. Under Xavi Hernandez, he saw limited chances, and last season, he was loaned out to Girona. Unfortunately, his expectations for consistent playing time were not met there either.
Hoping for a fresh start, Barcelona brought him back, believing Flick would integrate him into the squad. However, the reality has been quite the opposite.
Since returning, Torre has rarely featured, spending most matches on the bench or not being selected at all. With Flick seemingly uninterested in utilizing him, Torre has grown increasingly frustrated and is now determined to seek a move elsewhere to revive his career.
Barcelona’s management, led by Joan Laporta and Deco, is aware of the player’s dissatisfaction. If Torre insists on leaving, the club will not obstruct his exit. They acknowledge his talent but also recognize that his development has stalled.
A loan move to another La Liga club, where he can play a key role, is seen as the most beneficial option. However, if a strong offer arrives, Barcelona might consider a permanent transfer with a buy-back clause, a strategy they have used for young players in the past.
Despite his limited minutes, Torre remains an attractive prospect in the transfer market. Several La Liga clubs, including Real Sociedad, Villarreal, and Real Betis, have expressed interest in acquiring him. Unless circumstances change drastically, it appears increasingly likely that Torre will not be part of Barcelona’s squad next season.
His relationship with Flick has deteriorated, and with his patience wearing thin, he is determined to find a club where he can play regularly and continue his development.
