Recent reports from the Spanish media have revealed a surprising development in the transfer market, as Barcelona is reportedly on the verge of completing a swap deal with Premier League side Newcastle United. The deal centers around the transfer of Swedish striker Alexander Isak to Barcelona, with Hansi Flick’s favored player potentially heading in the opposite direction.
Due to strict financial regulations imposed by La Liga’s salary cap, Barcelona has been actively searching for innovative ways to strengthen its squad without breaching financial limits.
Despite the monetary challenges, the club remains determined to secure the services of Alexander Isak, whom they consider a long-term solution for their attacking line, especially as current striker Robert Lewandowski approaches the twilight of his career at 36 years old.
In order to make room for new arrivals and manage wage expenses, Barcelona is considering letting go of several players. Among the most prominent names mentioned is Spanish defender Eric García.
Although García has played a significant role since his arrival at the club, the management now sees his potential exit as a strategic move to reduce salary obligations and fund new signings.
