For a long time now, I’ve chosen to stay quiet about this particular player, giving him the benefit of the doubt and hoping he would eventually turn things around.
I kept telling myself maybe he just needed time, maybe a little faith, and perhaps under Mikel Arteta’s guidance, he would finally find his form and contribute positively to the team. Unfortunately, after what I witnessed from him on the pitch yesterday, I can no longer stay silent. Enough is enough.
His performance was not just disappointing — it was unacceptable for a club of Arsenal’s stature. Watching him make mistake after mistake, offering absolutely nothing in attack or defense, and looking completely lost and out of place on the field was frustrating for every fan. It’s clear now that he lacks the quality, mentality, and consistency needed to compete at the highest level. Frankly speaking, he has become a liability to the team.
According to inside reports, even Arsène Wenger has finally lost patience. The legendary former Arsenal manager, who has always been known for giving young players chances and backing his men, has reportedly urged Mikel Arteta to cut ties with this particular player as soon as possible. Arsène believes that keeping him any longer would be a huge mistake and could cause even bigger problems for the team heading into next season.
It’s important to clarify — the player in question is neither Declan Rice nor David Raya. Both of them have proven themselves valuable to the team in different capacities this season. This is someone else whose name has been on the lips of frustrated fans for weeks now.
Arteta needs to act quickly. This summer transfer window offers the perfect opportunity to clear out dead weight and strengthen the squad ahead of another title push. Delaying this decision could harm the dressing room atmosphere, lower team morale, and potentially cost Arsenal important points in the new campaign.
In football, tough decisions must be made for the good of the club. Loyalty is important, but not when it threatens progress. If Arsenal truly wants to challenge for trophies next season and build on the good work Arteta has started, this player has to go. Arteta must fetch him out before it’s too late.
