Sesko enjoyed a productive season, scoring 21 goals and providing six assists in 45 appearances for Leipzig. Although those numbers might not seem extraordinary, the former Red Bull Salzburg star boasts a high potential ceiling. Notably, he achieved a solid 20% shot-to-goal conversion rate and demonstrated an ability to score from long distances.

Stylistically, Sesko offers a similar physical presence in the penalty area to Erling Haaland, combined with greater mobility and adaptability — qualities that would suit Arteta’s tactical setup well. The Arsenal manager has reportedly been keen on Sesko for over a year and is eager for the club to move swiftly to avoid the risk of other clubs, like Manchester United, hijacking the deal.

RB Leipzig are standing firm on Sesko’s £67 million release clause. Arsenal’s management, led by sporting director Andrea Berta, is currently in discussions with the German side to agree on suitable payment terms. Should negotiations stall, the Gunners may turn their attention to Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, another striker target available for around £59 million.
