Arsenal have now confirmed the signing of another attacker after reaching a comprehensive agreement with a prominent European club. The transfer is set to be made permanent, with medicals already scheduled and the player currently traveling to London to finalize the move. This comes as part of the club’s active push to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
Amid this progress, Arsenal are also reportedly considering a swoop for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke. Internal discussions are said to be ongoing at the Emirates regarding whether the young England international fits the profile Arteta is seeking. If the club decides to move forward, formal contact with Chelsea could be imminent.
Earlier this week, Arsenal already wrapped up a deal with Chelsea for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who arrived at the Emirates in a £5 million transfer. That acquisition signaled the beginning of what is expected to be a busy window for the Gunners, especially following their narrow miss in the 2024–25 Premier League title chase.
Arteta, looking to sharpen his attacking edge, is believed to want not just a traditional striker but also more flair and creativity in the final third. While the hunt for a primary No. 9 continues, there’s a parallel push to bring in dynamic wide players or attacking midfielders who can unlock defenses.
According to trusted source Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are seriously evaluating whether Madueke is a name worth pursuing. While no official bid has yet been submitted, the door remains open for negotiations if the North London club chooses to make their interest concrete.
Ben Jacobs echoes that sentiment, adding that although Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca still holds Madueke in high regard, the Blues may be tempted to sell if a solid offer—around £45 million—arrives. Such a figure would represent a sizable profit on the £28.5 million Chelsea paid PSV Eindhoven in January 2023.
Despite flashes of brilliance, Madueke’s consistency has been questioned. While he has netted 20 goals and provided 9 assists in 90 outings for Chelsea, his end product hasn’t always matched his technical skill. Some fans have voiced concerns over his reliability in the final third, fueling speculation that the club could be willing to cash in.
Chelsea’s potential acquisitions—Joao Pedro, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Estevao Willian—suggest further competition for places, and Madueke may see his role reduced if he remains at Stamford Bridge. A move to Arsenal, meanwhile, could present him a real shot at competing with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard for a more prominent spot.
