Manchester United are being linked with a bold move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose future in France has been thrown into doubt. The Italian shot-stopper has just come off arguably the finest season of his career, not only winning trophies with PSG but also producing a string of world-class performances that carried his side all the way to the Champions League final in Munich, firmly cementing his status as one of football’s true generational talents.
The 26-year-old was at his absolute best with stunning saves against Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Arsenal before a relatively quiet night in the final against Inter Milan, where PSG’s outfield dominance delivered a ruthless 5-0 victory. Yet despite those heroics, his summer has been anything but calm, with speculation mounting over whether he will remain at Parc des Princes.
Recent reports suggest Donnarumma and PSG have failed to agree terms on a contract renewal. With his current deal set to expire next summer and PSG already bringing in Lucas Chevalier as a potential replacement, the keeper’s position at the club looks increasingly precarious. The situation has naturally caught the attention of several top European clubs.
Among those showing strong interest is Manchester United, who are understood to be seeking an upgrade in goal after Andre Onana’s mixed spell.
