BREAKING NEWS:”I had to quit Chelsea because of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, – player finally admits

In January 2023, Chelsea acquired promising young talent Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama in Brazil.

Although he impressed during the previous summer’s preseason under manager Mauricio Pochettino, Santos expressed his desire to go out on loan to gain more playing time.

Last season, Santos had loan spells at both RC Strasbourg and Nottingham Forest. While his playing time at Nottingham Forest was limited, he enjoyed a strong second half of the season at Strasbourg.

His performances at Strasbourg were so notable that he was named Ligue 1 Player of the Month for March.

Santos recently explained his decision to leave Chelsea on loan, attributing it to the presence of established midfielders Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, who are also South American. In an interview with Fora do Jogo, he said, “Chelsea wanted me to stay last season, but it was my decision to go and play.

I did very well in the pre-season. However, with Enzo and Caicedo in the team, I wanted to play and have more minutes on the field, so I decided, together with my family, to go out on loan.”
