BREAKING NEWS: According to football expert Fabrizio Romano, “he’s the kind of striker I need; he possesses the qualities I need in a striker, and it’s him I want to lead my attack next season if we get what we want.” According to the Italian magazine Il Roma, Arsenal is reportedly in talks to buy Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen this summer. In an attempt to improve their attack, the Gunners have explored a summer move with Napoli forward Victor Osimhen’s agents. Arsenal has opened talks to sign a world-class striker worth €130 million.

Arsenal have reportedly entered discussions to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, according to Italian publication Il Roma.

The Gunners, having fallen short in the Premier League and the Champions League last season, are looking to bolster their squad to improve their chances in the upcoming campaign. To enhance their attacking lineup, Arsenal has started talks with Osimhen’s representatives.

While Paris Saint-Germain is also keeping an eye on Osimhen, they have not yet made an official move. Chelsea, once interested in the striker, appear to have exited the race.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano noted that Osimhen’s contract with Napoli features a €130 million release clause, a figure that Napoli hopes to achieve in any transfer deal. This high price tag could be a significant financial hurdle for Arsenal.

Since moving from Lille to Napoli in the summer of 2020, Osimhen has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances, cementing his status as one of the top forwards globally. During the 2021-2022 season, Osimhen was instrumental in ending Napoli’s 33-year wait for a Serie A title by scoring 31 goals in 39 matches.

His skills include exceptional speed, strength, aerial prowess, and a keen goal-scoring instinct, making him a highly sought-after player.

With Benjamin Sesko having renewed his contract with RB Leipzig, Arsenal’s search for a striker persists.

Apart from Osimhen, Arsenal has shown interest in other forwards like Joshua Zirkzee, Viktor Gyokeres, and Alexander Isak. However, Osimhen remains one of the most attractive options available, though the chase is expected to be costly. Moreover, interest from Middle Eastern clubs could further inflate his transfer fee.

Arsenal are gearing up for an active transfer window as they look to strengthen their squad for a successful season ahead.
