Bruno Fernandes has recently praised his fellow Portuguese national team member, Francisco Conceição, suggesting that the young player would be a great fit for Manchester United, a leading English football club.
Fernandes, who finished last season with impressive performances for Manchester United, began his preparations for the 2024 European Championship in an impressive manner, scoring twice in a match against Finland on Tuesday evening.
Entering the game in the second half along with his club teammate Diogo Dalot, Fernandes made a significant impact. He scored a spectacular long-range goal to bring Portugal’s lead to 3-0 and later added another goal.
After the match, Fernandes, who is also the captain of Manchester United, took the opportunity to commend Francisco Conceição, the 21-year-old right winger who assisted both of Fernandes’ goals.
“Francisco played exceptionally well; his dynamic play and relentless effort off the ball were remarkable,” Fernandes told Mais Futebol. “His quick reactions to turnovers and his excellent positioning are clear indicators of the high-level training he’s received from his father. We need players who can bring a variety of skills to the team, enhancing our overall strength.”
Fernandes’ mention of Conceição’s father, Sérgio Conceição, is noteworthy as Sérgio is currently the manager at FC Porto, where Francisco has had an outstanding season with 43 appearances, eight goals, and eight assists.
With a market value close to £13 million according to Transfermarkt, Conceição is a promising prospect for Manchester United.
As the club faces the potential departures of Antony and Facundo Pellistri in the upcoming transfer window, finding a talented right winger to compete with Amad Diallo is crucial.
Conceição’s left-footed abilities align well with Amad’s strengths, particularly his skills in assisting and scoring, which would complement players like Rasmus Højlund and Fernandes, who primarily play central roles in the team’s formation.
