Chelsea is on the verge of finalizing a £17 million transfer deal, including possible add-ons, to acquire Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors.
The young Argentine talent is expected to sign a six-year contract but will initially join Strasbourg on loan.
Previously linked with Manchester United, Anselmino is now set to join Chelsea instead. According to The Athletic, while negotiations between Chelsea and Boca Juniors are advancing well, the agreement has yet to be finalized.
The discussions are progressing smoothly, and agreeing on personal terms with Anselmino is not seen as an obstacle.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the situation, stating, “Aaron Anselmino already said yes to Chelsea, waiting on the club-to-club agreement with Boca Juniors to be completed.” This indicates that Anselmino has agreed to personal terms with Chelsea, and the final step is securing the official agreement between the two clubs.
Despite the initial connections to Manchester United, Chelsea has managed to position itself favorably in securing Anselmino’s signature. The deal’s progress suggests that the London club is close to adding another promising young talent to their squad.
As negotiations continue positively, Chelsea fans can be optimistic about the potential arrival of Anselmino and what he could bring to the team, both in the long-term future and during his initial loan spell at Strasbourg.
