In their next encounter with West Ham, they managed to score six goals. Although Arsenal ultimately did not win the title, they ended the season as the second-highest scorers in the league, with 91 goals.
This improvement raises the question: is acquiring a new forward still necessary? While it may not be as urgent now, recent reports suggest some exciting developments on this front.
Initially, it appeared that Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko would be joining Arsenal this summer. The RB Leipzig forward had a reasonable release clause, and it seemed that Arsenal just needed to pay the fee to secure his transfer. However, Sesko is now set to remain in Germany and sign a new deal with Leipzig.
As a result, Arsenal has redirected their attention to Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres. The club’s interest in the Sporting striker has been known for some time, but they have now intensified their pursuit. Reports indicate that Gyokeres is “on the verge” of signing with Arsenal, suggesting that the club is close to finalizing the acquisition.
