Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has officially transferred to Chelsea from Leicester City. The English midfielder has signed a five-year contract with Chelsea, which includes an option to extend for an additional year, potentially keeping him at the club until 2030.
Dewsbury-Hall excelled under Enzo Maresca’s management at Leicester City, becoming the club’s standout player in the previous season. Over 49 appearances, he netted 12 goals, earning the accolade of Leicester Players’ Player of the Year.
Eager to make an impact at Chelsea, Dewsbury-Hall is committed to bringing his talents to the team.
On the Chelsea official website, he described himself as a “box-to-box midfielder” and highlighted his offensive and defensive contributions. “I am someone who likes to attack, drive at defenders, and create opportunities with goals and assists. Defensively, I always give 100 per cent for the team and aim to contribute in every aspect of the game,” he explained.
At 25 years old, Dewsbury-Hall also expressed his ambition to follow in the footsteps of N’Golo Kante, who spent seven successful years at Chelsea after transferring from Leicester City. Kante, regarded as the greatest box-to-box midfielder of his generation, serves as a significant source of inspiration for Dewsbury-Hall.
Reflecting on his time at Leicester with Kante, Dewsbury-Hall shared, “I was a scholar when Kante was in the first team. Watching him move to Chelsea and achieve great things with the club motivated me even more to pursue a similar path.”
