Alexander Isak, a forward for Newcastle United, is reportedly attracting interest from Chelsea, with rumors suggesting that Chelsea might break the British transfer record to sign the 24-year-old. Isak, who joined the Premier League from Real Sociedad two years ago, has developed into one of the league’s standout players.
Last season, Isak netted 21 goals in the league, bringing his total to 35 goals in 67 appearances for Newcastle. His impressive performance has made him a hot topic in transfer discussions.
Newcastle legend and devoted fan Alan Shearer has weighed in on the speculation about Isak’s future.
In a conversation with Betfair, Shearer expressed confidence that Isak would remain with Newcastle, despite the rumors linking him to Chelsea. Shearer emphasized that the prospect of Isak leaving seems highly unlikely and would provoke outrage among Newcastle supporters.
Shearer stated, “I’m not that worried about Alexander Isak being linked with other clubs. I don’t think he’ll leave.
I don’t think it can happen. Newcastle supporters would go mad if it happened. What he’s brought to Newcastle and how good a player he is, I’m not sure Chelsea could afford him either.”
Shearer also noted that while Isak’s name has been mentioned in connection with several clubs, this interest merely highlights how well he has performed. “I’ve seen the reports and I don’t think there’s anything in that at all.
I’d be amazed, angry, and disappointed if he left Newcastle. He’s been linked with a number of clubs and that shows how well he’s done. He had a really good season,” Shearer continued.
Praising Isak’s abilities, Shearer remarked, “We know what he can do in front of goal. He’s a wonderful player. He likes Newcastle. I’d be amazed if he went anywhere.” According to Shearer, Isak’s loyalty to Newcastle and his significant contributions make his departure highly improbable.
