Here we go: Manchester United has completed the signing of an £80 million world-class player. The contract was agreed last night on a long-term basis, and the medical will take place today. The club will make a statement this morning. Ten Hag’s third signing is confirmed.

Manuel Ugarte is on the brink of joining Manchester United, with the transfer from PSG nearing completion, as reported by French media.

The Uruguayan international has been associated with Manchester United for several weeks, and his move to Old Trafford appears imminent.

Foot Mercato reports that Ugarte is poised to depart PSG just a year after his transfer from Sporting CP, the reigning Portuguese champions. French media have confirmed reports from the English press that the 23-year-old defensive midfielder has agreed to personal terms with Manchester United.

According to Foot Mercato, PSG and Manchester United are close to finalizing an agreement for Ugarte’s transfer. The outlet emphasizes that the ‘Ugarte operation is nearly complete.’

With Manchester United having already secured two significant signings to bolster their defense and attack, the acquisition of the South American midfielder is expected to address their long-standing issue in the defensive midfield position for years to come.

Should Erik ten Hag’s team finalize the £60 million deal for Ugarte, it would mark a significant transfer window for the club. Mirror Sport suggests that even more signings could follow.

Manchester United finished the last season in 8th place and will not participate in the Champions League next season.

At a minimum, Ten Hag is expected to guide the team back into Champions League contention, though the Dutch manager recently admitted that United are still far from being Premier League title contenders.

Do you believe these new signings will enable Manchester United to challenge for the title?
