TRANSFER SHOCK: Although he has signed a six-year contract with Chelsea, the £75M striker is reportedly in advanced talks with Arsenal, as Mikel Arteta aims to get back at Chelsea for taking Mykhailo Mudryk.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Viktor Gyökeres, the striker from Sporting CP. The Swedish international had an outstanding season with the Portuguese club, catching the attention of several Premier League teams. According to HITC, Arsenal recently sent scouts to watch Gyökeres in action.

However, they are not the only club interested; Chelsea and Liverpool are also monitoring the player.

Gyökeres scored 43 goals in all competitions last season, making him one of the most prolific scorers in European football.

His potential arrival at Arsenal could significantly boost the team’s attacking options, especially given the underwhelming performance of Gabriel Jesus last season, who managed just four league goals.

Arsenal are keen to strengthen their squad to challenge for the Premier League title and need a more consistent goal scorer to compete with the likes of Manchester City.

The 25-year-old Gyökeres would be a major signing for Arsenal, offering a more clinical edge in the final third. For Gyökeres, moving to a club of Arsenal’s stature would be a significant career step. The striker would likely relish the opportunity to prove himself at the highest level.

Chelsea and Liverpool are also in the market for a striker, making the competition for Gyökeres’s signature fierce. Chelsea struggled for goals last season, relying heavily on Cole Palmer for creativity and lacking a reliable goal scorer.

Nicolas Jackson did not meet expectations, leaving Chelsea in need of a consistent striker. Similarly, Liverpool faced issues with finishing, with Darwin Núñez not delivering the expected number of goals. Both clubs could see Gyökeres as a solution to their scoring problems.

The transfer of Gyökeres from Sporting CP is not expected to be inexpensive, and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal, Chelsea, or Liverpool are willing to make a substantial financial commitment to secure his services.

The competition for his signature adds an interesting dynamic to the summer transfer market, with all three clubs potentially looking to strengthen their attacking line-up.
