According to Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by The Evening Standard, Arsenal is considering a move for Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres over Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
Gyokeres, seen as a more budget-friendly option despite his £85 million release clause, is favored due to his impressive performance and affordability compared to Osimhen.
Gyokeres, a 26-year-old Swedish striker, joined Sporting from Coventry City last summer and had a stellar debut season in Portugal, scoring 43 goals and providing 15 assists in 50 games. His performance has made him a target for Arsenal as they seek attacking reinforcements.
On the other hand, Victor Osimhen, a highly-regarded Nigerian forward playing for Napoli, has been linked with several clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, his future remains uncertain as Arsenal seems to be leaning towards signing Gyokeres instead.
