BREAKING NEWS: Manchester United has officially announced the signing of the 23-year-old superstar, who has arrived for the unveiling.

Following the acquisitions of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, Manchester United’s primary focus shifted towards securing a new midfielder.

Although Sander Berge was initially linked with a move to the club, he ultimately joined Fulham instead. Consequently, Manuel Ugarte became Erik ten Hag’s top target. According to Plettenberg, Manchester United are now in advanced negotiations to sign the 23-year-old midfielder. Discussions between United and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are reportedly progressing, with both clubs getting closer to agreeing on a deal. The transfer could either be a permanent move or a loan arrangement with an obligation to buy.

While a verbal agreement has already been reached with Ugarte, Plettenberg emphasises that the deal is not yet finalised. The main sticking point appears to be the difference in valuation between the two clubs. Manchester United are aiming to pay as little as possible, while PSG are holding firm on their £51 million asking price.

Ugarte, who is a defensive midfielder by nature, is expected to be brought in to provide cover for Casemiro when needed, either due to rest or poor form. Despite having only been at PSG for a year, Ugarte seems ready for a new challenge and is reportedly eager to join Manchester United this summer.
