Danilo offered to Manchester United?

Manchester United is actively searching for a new midfielder, considering various options in the market. After negotiations for Manuel Ugarte stalled, several names have surfaced, though many appear to be suggestions rather than concrete targets.

Among the linked names, Youssouf Fofana remains an option, despite reports indicating that Manchester United may not be pursuing him actively. Atalanta’s Ederson is another player under consideration.

A recent report highlights the potential offer of 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder Danilo to Manchester United. Danilo, currently with Nottingham Forest, could be seen as a player with valuable Premier League experience and a compatible style of play.

However, this offer might be driven more by intermediaries than a genuine pursuit by Manchester United. Any move for Danilo would depend on Nottingham Forest’s asking price, given the substantial fee they paid to acquire him from Palmeiras 18 months ago.

Manchester United’s midfield situation is complex. Joao Gomes is another target, sharing similarities with Danilo. Erik ten Hag, the Dutch manager, appears to be seeking a midfielder with combative abilities rather than a purely defensive one.

The current midfield options are deemed insufficient for a team aspiring to challenge for the title or secure a top-four finish.

At present, only Kobie Mainoo is considered a definite starter for Manchester United. The club is also looking to offload Casemiro, but the lack of significant interest in the Brazilian suggests he might remain with the team. Consequently, Manchester United may need to seek a more affordable option to strengthen their midfield.
