Last season, after a very public fallout, it seemed like Jadon Sancho’s time at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag was over. The only hope for the English winger seemed to rest on the possibility of the Red Devils replacing the Dutch coach, which did not happen.
However, there has been a remarkable turnaround for Sancho under Ten Hag this summer. The two met in person and resolved their differences, leading to the 24-year-old’s immediate reinstatement into the first team.
Sancho had spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, where he showed more promise than during his entire time at Old Trafford.
In pre-season, Sancho has displayed flashes of brilliance, but it remains uncertain if he is fully ready for the new season with Manchester United. Despite Ten Hag’s evident support, rumors of Sancho’s exit persist.
According to The Mirror, PSG is prepared to meet Manchester United’s asking price of around £40 million to sign Sancho. This comes despite Ten Hag recently stating that Sancho could be used as a number nine to address the team’s injury issues in attack.
PSG, looking for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, sees Sancho as a potential solution. Meanwhile, Manchester United is interested in signing Manuel Ugarte from PSG, a player the Ligue 1 club is keen to sell. If Manchester United decides to sell Sancho, the two clubs might strike a deal that brings the Uruguayan to Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, it is highly unlikely that Erik ten Hag will approve Sancho’s departure, especially given the current injury struggles among his attackers. For now, it looks like Sancho will remain at Old Trafford. The upcoming season could be pivotal for Sancho’s career at Manchester United.
If he can recapture his form from his Dortmund days, he still has the opportunity to secure his place in the team. There is hope that the Englishman can demonstrate his talent under Ten Hag’s management.
