The 23-year-old player will join Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Joshua Zirkzee at Old Trafford, pushing Manchester United’s summer expenditure past £180 million. Meanwhile, academy graduate Scott McTominay is nearing a transfer to Napoli, and Jadon Sancho’s future remains uncertain.
Sancho is reportedly under observation from Chelsea and Juventus. United is considering options for him, either a permanent transfer or another loan spell after his recent return stint at Borussia Dortmund.
Once McTominay’s transfer is finalized, the No.39 shirt will become available. While this number is not typically favored by first-team players, Sancho’s former No.25 shirt might attract interest for potential signings before the transfer deadline.
Mazraoui, De Ligt, Yoro, and Zirkzee have been assigned the No.3, No.4, No.15, and No.11 shirts respectively for their new roles at United. With the deadline approaching, available shirt numbers are limited, indicating United’s progress in squad planning.
The currently available numbers include No.13, No.19, No.26, No.27, No.28, and No.29, along with various options in the 30s, 40s, and 50s. If McTominay and Sancho depart, their shirt numbers may also become available.
