Benjamin Sesko, the rising star at RB Leipzig, has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea. Arsenal, in particular, has placed the 20-year-old Slovenian striker high on their list of transfer targets for the upcoming window.
Despite only being at Leipzig for a year, Sesko’s impressive goal-scoring record has led to increased interest from multiple clubs. The Gunners are pushing hard for his arrival, with reports suggesting they have already made contact with Sesko’s camp and his agent, showing strong intent to secure his signature.
Leipzig, keen to retain the talented forward, has responded by offering him a contract extension that would keep him at the club at least until the summer of 2024, with a significant pay rise as part of the deal.
This is a strategic move to fend off interest from Premier League giants. However, a departure from Leipzig before the 2024/25 season remains a possibility, especially with the player’s release clause set at €65 million (£55 million).
If Sesko does sign a new contract, it is uncertain whether this release clause will still apply, though there might be a gentleman’s agreement allowing him to leave for a substantial fee next summer.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has weighed in on the situation, revealing that Sesko has already rejected two offers from Saudi Arabian clubs.
He also mentioned that while Arsenal and other Premier League clubs are in pursuit, the final decision rests with the player. Sesko is yet to make a concrete decision on his future, and Romano indicated that the situation could change as new developments emerge.
Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak is another player on Arsenal’s radar, but his high price tag makes that deal unlikely. For now, Arsenal is focused on Sesko, though his potential move may depend on whether he agrees to Leipzig’s offer or chooses a new challenge in the Premier League. Regardless of his decision, Sesko’s future will be closely watched in the coming months.
