Arsenal is showing steady progress under Mikel Arteta and is looking to strengthen its squad for the 2025 season, according to reports. One of the key targets includes Bournemouth players Antoine Semenyo and Milos Kerkez, both valued at around €80 million. The Gunners are reportedly interested in adding these players to enhance the team’s depth and performance.
The potential departures of left-backs Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney mean Arsenal may need to reshuffle its defense. Jakub Kiwior could also be moved to make room for a new left-back, especially with the recent signing of Riccardo Calafiori and the availability of Jurrien Timber as another option. The club is actively planning to ensure they have adequate cover and competition in key positions.
Arsenal’s ambitions are clear: after narrowly missing out on winning the Premier League title in the last two seasons, they are determined to finally secure the championship. Manchester City, one of their main rivals, has been underperforming this season, with key player Rodri sidelined for the remainder of the campaign. This situation puts Arsenal in a strong position to challenge for the title.
Despite taking a more cautious approach to spending during the summer, Arsenal is expected to have the financial resources available to make key signings during the January transfer window if necessary.
Semenyo, at 24 years old, is seen as a potential backup for the vital Bukayo Saka, while the 20-year-old Kerkez is being considered as a left-back alternative.
Signing both players, however, would require a significant investment, with Bournemouth’s €80 million asking price presenting a financial challenge. While both Semenyo and Kerkez are young and have Premier League experience, they may not be immediate “game-changers” for Arsenal.
Still, Arsenal has had success in the Premier League transfer market before, with acquisitions like Ben White, Leandro Trossard, Declan Rice, and David Raya proving to be valuable additions to the team. The club is likely to continue exploring options within the league as they work to build a squad capable of winning silverware.
