Joshua Zirkzee has sparked significant attention after publicly revealing his frustration with a Manchester United teammate. Following United’s 2-1 comeback victory over Brentford, Zirkzee hinted that a rift has developed between him and a fellow player.
He bluntly stated that the club must sell the player by January or he will seek a transfer himself. The cause of the tension remains undisclosed, but Zirkzee made it clear that the two of them can no longer coexist on the team.
Interestingly, he emphasized that the player in question is neither Marcus Rashford nor Bruno Fernandes. Zirkzee believes this teammate’s actions directly affected his performance and impacted his ability to regain his goal-scoring form.
The game itself saw Manchester United put in a mixed performance, with players like Andre Onana and Marcus Rashford standing out. Onana, rated 8, was exceptional with his distribution, providing long balls that contributed to United’s attacks. Diogo Dalot also had a solid game, rated 7, playing a significant defensive role.
Matthijs de Ligt, who suffered a head injury, battled on to maintain a commanding presence at the back and earned a 7. However, Casemiro struggled, with a score of 5, as his passing and decision-making were far from their best.
In the midfield, Christian Eriksen impressed with a rating of 7, bringing control and calmness, especially in the second half. Bruno Fernandes, despite not having a stellar game, provided a crucial assist to Hojlund, who had one of his best games in a United shirt. Rated 8, Hojlund displayed excellent link-up play and scored the winning goal. Garnacho, who scored right after halftime, was also influential, causing chaos down the left side and earning an 8 rating.
Substitutes like Victor Lindelof and Manuel Ugarte contributed late in the game, stabilizing the defense. Zirkzee himself, however, missed key chances and earned a rating of 5.
Despite the win, his dissatisfaction with a teammate overshadowed the positive aspects of United’s performance, and his ultimatum could put pressure on the club to make a decision by the January transfer window.
