BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal targeting 19-year-old talent seen as the next Martin Ødegaard.

Spanish sources report that Arsenal has shown interest in Real Madrid’s young midfielder, Arda Güler. The 19-year-old talent has caught the attention of the Premier League side as his situation at Madrid remains uncertain.

Güler joined Real Madrid last year from Fenerbahçe in a €20 million (£17 million) transfer deal. In his first season, he managed to make 12 La Liga appearances, showcasing glimpses of his potential but not cementing a regular place in the team.

Although Güler shone on the international stage for Turkey at Euro 2024, he has struggled for consistent game time under Carlo Ancelotti this season. Out of Real Madrid’s 17 matches across all competitions so far, he has started just three, raising concerns about his development.

According to reports from Sport, Güler is reportedly dissatisfied with his limited role at the club and may be looking for more playing opportunities elsewhere. Arsenal has allegedly approached his representatives to gauge his openness to a move to the Premier League, potentially offering him the playing time he seeks.

The Gunners see parallels between Güler’s current situation and that of Martin Ødegaard, who also struggled for minutes at Real Madrid before thriving at Arsenal. Ødegaard initially joined Arsenal on loan in 2021 and later secured a permanent move for £30 million, becoming a key figure in their midfield.

When asked about Güler and another promising talent, Endrick, Ancelotti said, “Endrick is ready to play, doing very well, and showing a lot of quality in training. The same applies to Güler. These are young players pushing hard. The main goal is to turn things around as quickly as possible, not just allocate minutes to one player over another.”

Arsenal’s potential interest in Güler indicates their commitment to nurturing young talent and addressing gaps in their squad. Whether the Turkish midfielder sees Arsenal as the ideal next step remains to be seen, but a move could benefit both parties if it maerializes.
