According to recent press reports, German coach Hansi Flick has made a decisive choice for Barcelona’s midfield in the upcoming fixtures, following the injury of Spanish international Dani Olmo.
Olmo sustained an injury in the club’s recent encounter against Osasuna, which will keep him sidelined for approximately three weeks. Medical examinations confirmed that he suffered a right adductor strain, forcing Flick to adjust his plans.
The absence of Olmo presents an opportunity for young Spanish midfielder Pablo Gavi. Although Gavi never wished for his chance to come at the expense of a teammate’s injury, the unfortunate situation could grant him a route back into the starting lineup.
The Spanish publication AS reports that Gavi is on track to regain peak physical condition by April. After a long spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury, he made his comeback on October 20.
