With this win, the Catalan club, under the leadership of German coach Hansi Flick, booked their place in the final, setting up a highly anticipated showdown against Real Madrid. According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Flick expressed immense satisfaction with his team’s performance and their qualification for the final.
He acknowledged the tough battle against Atlético Madrid and looked ahead to the challenge of facing Real Madrid. Confident in his squad, the German coach issued a bold warning to Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti, emphasizing that he possesses the most influential player in world football.
Flick specifically lauded young sensation Lamine Yamal, crediting him as a game-changer in the semi-final. The coach praised Yamal for his outstanding display, stating, “You stole the spotlight with your legendary performance.” Flick attributed much of Barcelona’s success to the rising star’s brilliance, which proved decisive in eliminating Atlético in their own stadium.
In addition to Yamal, Flick also highlighted the exceptional contributions of Uruguayan defender Ronald Araújo. Brought on as a substitute for Jules Koundé in the second half, Araújo delivered a remarkable performance, helping Barcelona maintain a solid defense and secure the victory.
