𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: “Without a doubt” — journalist reports Arsenal set to land £85m star within the next two weeks

Arsenal appears to be gearing up for a major summer in the transfer market, with growing anticipation from fans and pundits alike. Following a disappointing end to their Premier League title challenge, the North London club is working intensively behind the scenes to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad ahead of the new season.

Arteta has already stressed the importance of significant reinforcements in key areas, hinting at a busy transfer window in the months to come.

One major development is the completed signing of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi. After lengthy negotiations that began in January, Arsenal has reportedly finalized the deal for the Spanish international, with trusted sources like David Ornstein claiming the agreement is essentially “done and signed” despite minor concerns raised by recent comments from the player.

Meanwhile, attention is also shifting towards other positions, notably between the sticks and in attack. Arsenal is believed to be close to agreeing a deal for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, although official confirmation is still awaited from the Emirates.

However, the club’s search for a new striker is dominating transfer discussions. Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres was recently the subject of a rejected bid from Arsenal, as reported by the Portuguese outlet Record. At the same time, sporting director Andrea Berta is working on another front, holding talks for RB Leipzig’s highly-rated forward, Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko, who is coming off a standout Bundesliga season with 21 goals in all competitions, has drawn interest from several top clubs. Arsenal’s pursuit of the 22-year-old Slovenian has reportedly intensified, with negotiations ongoing.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the final price for Sesko could soar to as much as £85 million, despite earlier suggestions of a lower release clause.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano and talkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs have confirmed that Arsenal’s interest in Sesko remains active, and there’s optimism that a deal could be reached before the end of June.

Jacobs noted that while it may not be finalized immediately when the transfer window officially opens on June 16th, the move could realistically materialize within the final two weeks of the month.

Interestingly, Arsenal had previously attempted to sign Sesko last summer and again in January, reflecting Arteta’s long-standing admiration for the striker. With Gyokeres also eager to secure a move to the Emirates, Arsenal’s striker hunt is shaping up to be one of the most compelling storylines of the transfer window.
