Arsenal is among the clubs considering the acquisition of Brentford’s Ivan Toney in 2024, with journalist Paul Brown suggesting a potential bid. Arsenal, led by Mikel Arteta, has had a promising start to the Premier League season as they aim to secure their first title since 2004.
Ivan Toney, currently facing a ban for breaching gambling rules, will become available in January, opening the door to a potential move from Brentford. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Brentford might accept an offer as low as £65 million for Toney in the coming year. Toney, who joined the CAA Stellar agency, has drawn interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur for a 2024 transfer.
Brentford hopes to initiate a bidding war for Toney, but his contract expires in the summer of 2025, making a sale increasingly likely. Arsenal, however, may need to offload players to make significant winter or summer signings, given their previous spending on players like Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber. A center-forward remains a priority for Arteta, as Gabriel Jesus hasn’t proven consistent in scoring.
While Dean Jones has not confirmed Arsenal’s decision on recruiting a striker, Paul Brown suggests that Toney is on Arsenal’s radar, and a January move is plausible.
Additionally, Arsenal is exploring alternatives, including Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus, as they seek their first Premier League title in two decades. Juventus’ financial difficulties may make a deal for Vlahovic more feasible.
Furthermore, Arsenal, along with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, is reportedly monitoring Brighton & Hove Albion’s young talent, Evan Ferguson, who has already made a significant impact in the Premier League and is drawing attention from top clubs.
