According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal’s young talent, Obi-Martin, is currently at the center of a fierce transfer battle due to his exceptional performances with Arsenal’s youth teams.
The 16-year-old Danish forward gained attention last year by scoring 10 goals in a single match against Liverpool and another seven against Norwich in April.
His remarkable tally of 32 goals for Arsenal’s U18s this past season has naturally caught the eye of major European clubs, including Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Recently, it was revealed by FootballTransfers that Obi-Martin’s family is advocating for a move to the Bundesliga, believing it to offer a superior developmental pathway compared to remaining at Arsenal. This preference stems from a perception that Mikel Arteta, despite his managerial strengths, has not effectively integrated academy players into Arsenal’s first team.
Despite these pressures, sources within Arsenal have expressed confidence in securing Obi-Martin’s commitment through a new deal. The proposed arrangement would start as a scholarship contract, transitioning to a professional one on his 17th birthday in November. However, this confidence now appears to be premature.
