Morgan, a renowned Arsenal supporter, expressed his admiration for Williams’ performance against Georgia in their Euro 2024 round of 16 match on Sunday evening.
Williams, a winger linked with a potential move to Chelsea, has significantly increased his market value through a series of standout performances.
Morgan, one of the most prominent Arsenal fans, urged Arteta to acquire one of European football’s most promising talents with a simple message. It remains uncertain if Arteta will act on this suggestion.
Following Spain’s impressive victory, Morgan didn’t hold back on Twitter. He shared a picture of Williams with the caption “Sign him,” tagging Arsenal manager Arteta.
The 21-year-old Spanish winger, currently playing for Athletic Club in La Liga, had already attracted interest before this summer’s major international tournament. However, his value has surged dramatically since then.
Williams and his brother Inaki have been with Athletic Club since their youth, but it appears the younger Williams is poised for bigger achievements this summer.
Chelsea has expressed solid interest in the winger, who has a £49 million release clause in his contract, though they have yet to activate the clause or advance negotiations.
Arsenal has also been mentioned as a potential destination for Williams, although the player has not acknowledged any links, concentrating instead on his performance in the European Championship.
Chelsea, in particular, needs a boost in attack, having had only Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson reach double figures in league goals last season, with Raheem Sterling seemingly in the twilight of his career.
Arsenal, meanwhile, already boasts a strong forward lineup. Nonetheless, a player like Williams could be crucial in helping them challenge Manchester City next season.
