Last month, Chelsea signed Marc Guiu from Barcelona. Guiu declined to renew his contract with the Blaugrana and left Barcelona for a mere €6 million.
Despite his departure from Camp Nou, there are rumors that Marc Guiu might soon return to Barcelona.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca believes that Guiu will gain valuable experience and develop his skills by going on loan.
According to Diario Sport, Maresca has suggested that Guiu should join Barcelona’s fierce rivals, Espanyol.
Espanyol, who recently returned to La Liga after a year in the Segunda Division, are looking to strengthen their attack following Martin Braithwaite’s departure.
Barcelona fans will undoubtedly be upset to see Guiu play for Espanyol after his eleven years with the Blaugrana.
Though Guiu was highly regarded at Camp Nou, he rarely saw playing time under former manager Xavi Hernandez.
